Welcome to The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime™ interactive DEMO for PowerPC Macintosh-compatibles! This is a self-contained sample of the forthcoming CD-ROM adventure game from Bandai Digital Entertainment Corp. based on Presto Studios' original best-selling title The Journeyman Project®. The graphic environments have been completely reconstructed to take advantage of enhanced PowerPC-native performance to bring richer sights and sounds in a far larger gameplay area for a truly remarkable gameplay experience.

Section 1: Pegasus Prime Quick Start
This special DEMO version is designed to run directly from CD-ROM or hard disk. You will first need to copy the individual items from the folder named Install into System Folder by dropping them onto your active System Folder. Check version numbers of these items by selecting Get Info from the Finder's File menu to make sure you're not replacing a more recent version of an extension that may have already been installed.
Under the special circumstance that you are up to date with System 7.5.3 or later, you may have most extensions already installed and may only need to install Display Library and DrawSprocketLib into your Extensions folder. If so, you will not need to restart to begin.
Section 2: Getting Set Up
System Requirements for the DEMO
• Power Macintosh or Macintosh-compatible with a PowerPC processor
• Macintosh System 7.5 (System 7.5.3 or later strongly recommended)
• Color monitor capable of displaying at least 640x480 resolution in 16-bit color (thousands)
• At least 6 megabytes of available RAM is required to run the application, 8 megabytes is recommended
• 4 megabytes of hard disk space
• CD-ROM drive (The demo can be launched from a 2x or faster CD-ROM or directly from your hard disk if you have at least 65MB of free disk space. However, the full retail version requires a 4x CD-ROM for optimum playback.)
Getting the latest Macintosh System software
Running the latest version of System software will definitely enhance performance and stability. Check out Apple's support web site at http://www.info.apple.com for the latest system software updaters.
Removing Extensions
Remove any unnecessary extensions which may interfere with the operation of Pegasus Prime; the only extensions you need are the extensions suppied with this demo, and your CD-ROM driver. Turn off virtual memory and RAM Doubler as they will greatly affect performance.
Setting your monitor to "Thousands" of colors
Pegasus Prime requires that your Macintosh be able to display 16-bit color ("Thousands") at a resolution of at least 640 x 480 pixels. Most PowerPC Macintoshes are capable of displaying this resolution. When you launch Pegasus Prime it will try to automatically switch your monitor settings to "Thousands". If it is unable to do so, or if you prefer to set the color settings yourself, you can open the "Monitors" control panel in your System Folder and select "Thousands".
Section 3: Technical Support
Technical support for the full retail version of Pegasus Prime is provided in North America by Bandai Digital Entertainment Corp. However, no support of any kind is available for the DEMO version.
Section 4: License Agreement & Disclaimer
Hmmm ... well, we want you to show your friends what a cool product Pegasus Prime is, so you're welcome to share this special DEMO version with them as long as you're not making money off our hard work (and they have tons of disk space to spare and your parents don't kill you for the phone bill you accumulated by modeming it to them). Be sure to include this read me notice and all the contents of this Pegasus Prime folder in UNMODIFIED form.
Unless explicitly stated in writing, Presto Studios Inc. does not grant permission to distribute the software for profit in any form, including but not limited to, electronic information service distribution, bulletin board distribution, and magnetic or optical medium distribution. Non-profit distribution of the software is acceptable without prior written notice, providing that the software is not modified in any way, and the complete works of the software are included in the distribution package.
